Fall State Leadership is right around the corner!

The 2014 Fall State Leadership Conference is fast approaching. This conference is the first state conference each school year and it brings together students and alumni from various schools across the state. During this conference, students are divided into team rooms and then further divided into 6 teams in each room. These teams work together to complete a project and then present their projects before the completion of the conference. Students also work throughout the conference to earn a leadership pin. This pin represents their hard work and dedication throughout the conference to complete their leadership book and work in a team environment.

During this conference, students, advisors, and alumni members representing different schools in the state complete a community service project at the Hopkinton YMCA. SkillsUSA MA has been volunteering at the YMCA for many years and we have completed many projects including cleaning up brush, building a fire pit, painting rooms, and building picnic tables. This service project is very rewarding for all involved and as an organization, we look forward to this event all year long.

Alumni members volunteer their time during this conference and although we are exhausted at the end, everyone returns year after year. The Fall State Leadership Conference provides alumni members with an opportunity to mentor the students throughout the entire conference and students become motivated to complete the conference events because of the alumni members’ dedication and hard work to providing a welcoming and rewarding environment. This conference is the most rewarding conference for alumni members and we all look forward to the next FSLC we are able to attend.

If you would like to join the alumni organization at this conference, please complete the volunteer application on our website.
