SkillsUSA Massachusetts Alumni and Friends Association Committees The mission of the alumni association is to demonstrate leadership and quality workmanship, to participate in and assist with SkillsUSA Massachusetts conferences, to aid in fundraising activities and to build up the association. The alumni association has five standing committees to assist the mission of the alumni association. They are the Membership Committee, Finance Committee, Community Service Committee, Social Activities Committee, and the State Leadership and Skills Conference Committee. Committees are open to all members of the association and meet on a regular basis to move forward the efforts and business of the association. If you are interested in joining a committee, please contact the chairperson for more information. Membership Committee - The Alumni Membership Committee conducts membership drives and maintains an official SkillsUSA Massachusetts Alumni Roster. This committee will also be responsible for developing a SkillsUSA Massachusetts Alumni newsletter, as well as providing membership services such as membership cards and membership correspondence. Finance (Ways and Means) Committee The Alumni Finance Committee will conduct fundraising drives and maintain all alumni financial records in cooperation with the Alumni Treasurer. The committee will work to secure donations from the community toward offering scholarships to the active and Alumni SkillsUSA membership. The Finance Committee will also work with the Community Service and Social Activities Committees to plan activities for Alumni members. - Amanda Laferriere - Chairperson
Community Service Committee The Community Service Committee will establish a plan to organize and implement community service projects throughout the school year. The committee will collaborate with the SkillsUSA Massachusetts state staff to coordinate an annual community service initiative with the state leadership. Additionally, the Community Service Committee will work with the Alumni Finance Committee to plan appropriate activities in support of the community service projects. Social Activity Committee The Alumni Social Activities Committee will work to coordinate activities, provide social, and networking opportunities for the Alumni membership. This committee will also work with the Finance Committee on fundraising activities. State Leadership and Skills Conference Committee This committee will provide assistance to the SkillsUSA Massachusetts staff for coordination and execution of the District and State SkillsUSA Championships. Assistance will be specifically provided for the Leadership contests, Skill contests, General Sessions, and other areas where assistance is required.
